BentSpoke and Canberra Brewers Club join forces to bring the Malty Cultural beer!

BentSpoke and Canberra Brewers The home brewers of the Canberra Brewers Club had an evening working with the big rig at BentSpoke???s Mitchell brewhouse to create a ???Malty Cultural??? beer for this year???s Multicultural Festival. The festival in Civic is one of the highlights of the Canberra calendar, and the beers of the world have always been a highlight for those who partake. ???With beers at the festival coming from the far corners of the world we wanted to have a brew that was firmly grounded in the people of the ACT,??? said BentSpoke co-owner and head brewer Richard Watkins. Nearly 100 members of the Canberra Brewers Club participated in the collaborative brew, excited by the chance to create for the night in a full-scale brewery, compared to the much smaller setups of the average home brewer. The beer takes its name from the malted barley (malt) which, with water, hops and yeast, forms one of the essential ingredients of beer. This beer also features malted wheat, malted rye and rolled oats. The easy drinking and sessionable ale (4.2% ABV) will be available at the Multicultural Festival from the BentSpoke stall at the 21st National Multicultural Festival. Since starting in 2015 BentSpoke has been developing a tradition of brewing specialty beers for the Multicultural Festival. Last year???s ???Blazing Saddle??? chilli infused beer was a cult hit with a range of non-traditional beer drinkers.
