Our beloved Crankshaft is setting its sights on 1st place for the second year in a row. With Crankshaft taking out the #1 spot in the GABS Hottest 100 craft beer poll in 2020, followed by 4 of their beers being voted into the top 20 and 5 in the top 50, we're hoping to keep Canberra's beers in top spot! GABS is Australia’s hottest craft beer poll voted on by the people who drink and love craft beer. Votes are counted from tens of thousands of craft beer aficionados around the country and celebrated in pubs with fans counting down their favourite beers and breweries on January 22nd each year.
This year, we are campaigning in true Canberra style, launching a craft beer political campaign as a nod to being Canberra Born and Brewed. A reminder that Canberra isn’t just about roundabouts and politics, but a home to people like Richard Watkins and Tracy Margrain who are both co-founders and head brewers of this independent family run business. We are excited to have all of Canberra get behind their two local independent breweries, BentSpoke and Capital, and get their favourite craft beers up on the podium again in 2021.
