Descent 21 Has Descended For Our Birthday !
We are celebrating 7 years of success of our Braddon BrewPub and production canning facility and brewery in Mitchell. For anyone that hasn’t heard the story, BentSpoke Brewing Co. is the brainchild of Champion Australian brewer Richard Watkins and Tracy Margrain. The pair traveled the world drawing inspiration for their ideal brewpub and on June 6th, 2014 BentSpoke in Braddon opened it’s doors to overwhelming support from the local community. This Saturday, 5th of June, the BentSpoke team will be celebrating alongside their staff, loyal draughters and the public with some live music, Descent 21 infused canapes and the traditional cake. Tracy Margrain, our Jill of all trades has said, “Ever since we opened our doors back in June 2014 we have always celebrated our birthday with the whole BentSpoke family. Its great to reflect on all our successes and celebrate those with all the people that have ridden that same trail “
The Birthday comes hand in hand with the very remarkable Russian Imperial Stout or better known, this year, as Descent 21. It is a beer held in high esteem for Richard and Tracy who chose this style of beer as a celebration to their hard work and a way to create and share something special with the community, followers and lovers of BentSpoke beers. The Beer is a 10% stout that feels like starting a downhill descent into the unknown. Aged in bourbon barrels for 12 months allowing the vanilla, whisky and wild yeast characters to invade this RIS. The roasty, bitter black malt and leather like esters from the stout integrated with the wild yeast characters from bourbon barrel aging complete this winter warmer!!
